Well, a lot has happened since I was last active on this website. I've gone from being engaged and living in Las Vegas, to breaking off a five year relationship to start anew in Hawaii of all places. I have also started selling at conventions again for the first time in almost eight years, which is why I'll actually start putting the work I finish on here again! I've got lots to do and not a lot of time to do it, so this will be a short update for now!

Yay Activity!

I feel pretty bad about how little I actually post on this site, especially after having almost 11 years on it. Gracious me I've been on here a long time!

Well, this is just a quick update that more will be to come soon. I am still working on LOTS of art, and a lot of it is almost finished. More will come soon! Thanks for the patience, everyone!

Holy Hannah, have things been busy!

In the last few months, I have been moved into HR at work, gone down to part-time, we've gotten a car, moved into a nicer area of town, started planning for a wedding, and started looking for more permanent housing to start our family life together, and that's not including what I've been doing artistically!

I still have not gotten my motherboard for my computer replaced, but I have managed to collect a few more copic markers and I have been coloring up a storm with them. I've been working on fan art along with my story, and I have a cohesive plotline to go off of when I finally can get the comic papers I want. I have a few more pieces that I am currently working on, and I have finished up a few others. I can't wait to have a working computer back so I can start putting my art back up! I rarely get access to a computer, so I decided to update while I can. I will hopefully update again when I have something substantial to put onto this website!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Well, again, my life has turned upside down!  After a rough few months living in Crack Alley, my fiancè and I had to move out due to horrible new neighbors (we had security AND metro called on us after they moed in after five months of NOTHING.) and random gunfire throughout the day. We are in the works for buying a car finally (Ol' Red finally gave me the middle finger), and trying to find a decent apartment that doesn't break our budget in a better area of town. I found out my computer's motherboard is fried, so I'm also getting ready to purchase a new one of those as well, but the car comes first, haha!

So I have actually been doing a WHOLE lot artistically, I just haven't really had the chance to get it scanned in to present to everyone! I am currently working on three portraits, seven character turn-arounds, the plotline of my comic (still hashing out when and how I want things to happen), a self-portrait, and two animations. I can't wait to get some of this stuff finished so I can show them off! As for the pieces I've already finished, but haven't put up, give it a little time I will have to get them all scanned in on a day I have off from work! Anyway, just a quick update for everyone so that you all don't think I'm just vanished! I shall return soon!!

Whelp, I'm finally getting myself back together in terms of my art.  I have been donig a LOT more drawing lately, and when I finally get a computer, I will be posting plenty! Moved away from the computer I was able to use, so I've been pretty unresponsive on here, and I apologize for that. The last few months have been really rough for me, emotionally, financially, and professionally. Things are definitely getting better, though, so I'm happy about that!

I've been doing a LOT more work traditionally (well, duh, no computer, right?), plus I've actually been trying to get my comic book idea put into a cohesive storyline! I'm really hoping to get a lot more work done soon, and when I get a computer, I can scan in everything I've been working on so that you guys can see that I'm not just some lazy bum! Sorry for just this quick little update, but I figured if anyone even watches me anymore, they should know what's going on. :D

I got dealt a very harsh blow today. My art production is probably on hold until I can get my head straight. I was told that a dear friend of mine, my "big brother" from my childhood was found dead this morning from a shotgun shot to the face.  They haven't determined whether or not it was an accident or suicide, but either way, I feel completely numb. I found out while I was at work, and ended up having to leave early because I was visibly shaken. I've shed quite a few tears over this fact, and I really don't know what to think.

He was my mother's best friend's son, and he was part of the family. He stood up for me whenever anyone was picking on me. He used to draw with me when we were kids. When I was diagnosed with Lupus, he did everything in his power to elighten himself on it. He was an amazing person, he filled my life with light. My head is flooded with memories of when we were young, and how much I cherished his friendship. I'm going to be taking some time off work to attend his funeral service once they set a date for it. It really doesn't even feel real.

I probably won't be posting much on here for a while, so I at least wanted to let everyone know why. Keep his family in your thoughts and prayers, if you could.

So, as I'm sure you all can tell, my computer is not back up yet. The guy fixing it told me I'm either going to have to replace the video card or the motherboard, but he can't tell exactly which one is messing up. I'm hoping it's not both, haha! I'm hoping to find out today if he's narrowed down what it is I need to buy for the computer so that I can be back to working! I also got into a car accident, and thankfully everyone was alright. I ended up getting a nice check from the guy's insurance to fix up my car, and I think I'm going to save the money and get myself a better car, preferably one with A/C!

So here's the good news! I haven't really slowed down much on how much I'm drawing, I've inked a couple more pieces that I plan on scanning soon, along with coloring more with my cheap markers, haha! So stay tuned to see what other crap I can churn out! :D

So I'm hoping by the end of this weekend my computer will be back in my hands all fixed and happy! A friend of mine took it and told me he'd do what he could to get it running again! I'm super stoked, because I'm always nervous about using a computer that's not mine, haha!

These past few weeks for me have been amazingly productive. I've gotten a LOT of artwork done (as I'm sure you can tell by the amount I'm uploading, haha!), and I have even more on the way to being finished. I got permission to download illustrator onto the computer, so I've been doing some work in that program, and I'm hoping to have at least one piece fully up and ready in the next few days, if work doesn't kick my butt like it has been! I'm hoping we'll be seeing more of my work up here soon!

Until then, my friends!

So, I was on a roll! I had two pieces that I was getting MAJOR progress on, my commissions were finally coming together, and my art life was on track. That was all before my computer decided he didn't want to live anymore. I have been computer-less for over a month and a half now, and it's killing me inside since I don't have any programs on the computer I'm currently using to send this message. Hopefully my computer will be fixed soon, I have a friend to come and check it out. :) So sorry, everyone!

On the positive, I have been getting some of my traditional portraits worked on, one is almost completely done! :D That and I'm also getting into a bunch of older shows, along with some really nice, mellow drawing music. I'm thinking once my computer is fixed, things will definitely be running at full speed ahead!

Ho, dang, I haven't been on this site in a long while! In the most basic of senses, my life kind of went haywire for the last few months, and I've been incredibly busy! For a while, there, I barely got on facebook (and for me that's amazing!). So, since I last visited, I've moved into my own place, had my personal life get completely out of control, and lost any drive I had to draw. Things are looking a lot better now, thankfully! I have been drawing more now (my hands are finally bothering me a little less with drawing!), and my drive to do artwork is starting to come back in waves (I'll have incredibly productive days followed by days where NOTHING turns out right!). In the next few weeks, I think I'll be able to post up some new works! YAY!

Alright, time for me to get back to work! D:

Anyway, I'm getting ready to start kicking butt and taking names in terms of my portfolio. I've got three traditional pencil drawings in the works, I'm in the pre-production stage for two traditional 2D animations, and I have a lot of still work I'm going to be working on as well. Wow, these last few weeks have been really hectic for me! I had to take a test for a job, and now I have an interview for that job next week, I'm excited! I'm trying to prepare for the interview, and get artwork done, which has proved a monumental task for me as of late, my drawing skills have seemed to have taken a hiatus.

I've been sick on and off the last few weeks as well, going from one chest infection to another, hopefully I'll be getting better soon. I had a religious retreat over last weekend, as well, which totally knocked me out, since I didn't sleep very much during it (I was also working during the retreat, making it extra fun). I've gotten myself away from the door at Wal Mart, I now run over Electronics for three nights a week, yay! This weekend, so far, I've done nothing but sleep, but it feels incredible to NOT have to wake up for something! :D

Hopefully we'll be seeing more artwork from me soon, as soon as I can figure out how to whip my muse back into shape! :D

This morning has been wonderful! I got up around 6AM, got ready for mass, and opened presents with my littler siblings. My brother Sam got me a Tangled doll, which I am LOVING! I got to see my darling cousin Stevie at church this morning, and a friend from high school, Justin, who is an officer in the Navy. I think it was a pretty successful morning! I got a card from one of the ladies at mass, and it's a gorgeous card that came with a little snowflake pen. It's been a good morning, filled with blessings!

I also wanted to share with you a video that the Lupus Foundation of America put up on facebook. Julian Lennon (son of John Lennon) and James Scott Cook wrote and performed a song called "LUCY," from which all the proceeds from buying it on iTunes from December 15th to March 15th will be donated to the Lupus Foundation of America in the US, and the St. John Lupus Trust in the UK. The song is especially dedicated to Lucy Vodden, Julian's schoolmate as a child and the inspiration for his father's song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." She died late last year at 46 due to her long, hard battle with Lupus. The song is also dedicated to James' 92-year-old grandmother, who also has lupus, and ironically, is also named Lucy (I believe she is a testament that Lupus is not always a death sentence, but a sign of hope, really). The song is wonderful, and I encourage anyone and everyone to share this song and it's special story around so we can get the message out there! :D Here is the video to the song:…

This has been a very big year for me, in terms of my health, faith, and art. I'm thankful for everyone who gave me comfort and understanding at my last journal, and I can feel myself growing more emotionally every day! This is going to be a really long journal, and I apologize, but I also wanted to share with you a thank you list that I created for my diagnosis of Lupus in June of this year:

Thank you, lupus, for finally giving me the answer I've been looking for for nearly ten years.

Thank you, lupus, for hitting me hardest when my family was there to catch me.

Thank you, lupus, for the fog that keeps me in a generally good mood because I can't focus much on the bad!

Thank you, lupus, for helping me to find my faith and come back to God.

Thank you, lupus, for the awesome freaky fingers.

Thank you, lupus, for giving me something to be angry at instead of those who don't deserve it.

Thank you, lupus, for not affecting any of my siblings.

Thank you, lupus, for the amazing people I've met just because I found out I had you.

Thank you, lupus, for letting me get more than 4 hours of sleep in a day!

Thank you, lupus, for giving me the opportunity to finally stand up for myself, even if it's only you who I've really begun to fight for.

Thank you, lupus, for being my answer.

Thank you again, everyone who has been there for me through all of this, and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year!

I Give Up.

I mean, honestly, what's the point of trying when you know that no matter what, you won't succeed? For years I've tried to keep up the faith that I'll find work in my field, that I won't have to work at Wal Mart my entire life, that I can for once have something to be proud of. It's getting to the point now that I can't even dream that anything in this life will ever pan out.

I've watched many people with less talent and less hard work make it with ease. How is it I'm always two steps behind everyone? What's the point of trying to catch up when I know my stuff isn't ever going to please a client? Why try when I know that in the next few years my hands won't work anymore? I'm sick of being the person always left behind the rest.

I never asked for any of this. I never asked to be told that I'm chronically ill and I'll never be normal. I never wanted to be a Wal Mart door greeter. I never wanted my life to feel so meaningless. I'm too tired for all of this. I'm tired of fighting a losing battle. I'm tired of feeling 'less than.' I know that is how I'll always end up feeling with my artwork. What's the point?

I give up.

Okay, I understand using a fake 3D program with built models for references in drawing your art, and I've done it myself before, but I'm really trying to understand what the big deal about poser is as an art program. A majority of the 'art' that I see coming from that crap pile really is mediocre at best (I'm not saying I'm good, but come on). The lighting is bad, and people seem to think that it's a program to do finished pieces on. I say bullshit. Use the program for what it's for, a REFERENCE. Alright, I'm done bitching now. :)

In other news, I have a few pieces that I'll be putting up here pretty quick, I'm trying to finish a line art, and as soon as I have some color refs from my darling :iconserrifth:, I'll be getting ready to finish the contest entry I have for her! :D

Alright, it's time for another episode of "Useless Excuses for Being Lazy!" I know you are all excited now. :) Anyway, I'm actually working on getting my pieces finished now, though it seems I get stuck at around 60% done, be it fan art, orginial concepts, or even just a few awesome sketches. I have also been trying to get work done for my portfolio, since it hasn't really been updated in over a year.

I've recently moved back home with my mother, since being in Sin City really took it out of me. I'm getting a lot of artwork started, I've filled another sketchbook, if only I could finish the pieces so that I had some  more to show everyone! I just got internet back, so hopefully I'll be able to get things underway in terms of showing what I've been doing.

I've also started doing some private art lessons with a young lady who is amazing! She's ten, and has such an amazing mind, her way of interpreting what I've taught her really amazes me. I can't wait to see where she goes with her art now, and I can only hope that she makes it farther than I have. :D I think things are going to turn out well. I'm also trying to get my younger brothers to work on their art as well, since both of them are really talented.

I'm working on a lot of things, now if only I could finish some of them. . .

Well, these last few weeks have been wraught with stress and unproductive behavior, but I'm finally getting back on the wagon! I've been really trying to keep myself drawing at least during my hour lunch at the Wally World, and I promised myself I would at least try to color some of my works for about an hour a day, depending on when I fall asleep, haha!

I am trying to get my portfolio updated for my website so I can have some fresh, new work hanging out in there. I am also in the process of redesigning my website, I just haven't been able to figure out how I am going to make it fit me more than it does now. I'm even being good and updating my blog! :D

I am currently procrastinating on working on my demo reel, and cleaning my room, but at least I've been productive lately! I am going to be posting more hopefully by the end of this week, maybe even earlier!
